Vahora Voice (VVUK) was founded in 2017 by like minded individuals (Meet the Team), who recognised the huge potential in the Indian Bharuchi Vahora community within the UK, who have worked and lived in England since 1950’s.
The aim is to empower and promote the Bharuchi Vahora Community heritage by engaging through education, cultural and social events. Hence, bridge the generational gaps within the community and connect all age groups and gende to their cultur, heritage and to broader society.
VVUK is a charity providing immediate relief and long-term solutions, helping those affected by crises such as natural disasters and conflicts. Projects include emergency aid, education centers, widow sponsorships, and a 100% donation policy ensures funds directly reach the needy.
1950 - Onwards, Vahoras started migrating to the UK. Initially majority settled in Lancashire and Yorkshire due to cotton industries and avaibility of work.
1951 - Dawoodbhai Pai of Tankariawala from Bombay settled in Coventry city - Mislands
1955 - Onwards more and more Vahoras, particularly from Bharuch areas went to the UK
1962 - Free port then immmigration rules and regulation changed (16th March 1962, last day for free entry)
